Salem Community Center Joins Ohio

ACE Education Marketplace to Expand

Access to Education

Salem, Ohio – The Salem Community Center proudly announces its participation in the Ohio ACE Education Marketplace as a Qualified Education Service Provider.  The ACE (Afterschool Child Enrichment) program provides funds to qualifying families to receive $1,000 per child to use on various enrichment and educational activities.

"We are thrilled to be joining the Ohio ACE Education Marketplace and expand access to education for students in our community," said Heather Young, SCC Executive Director.  "Our programs are designed to help students excel in their fields, and we believe that partnering with the Ohio ACE Education Marketplace will allow us to reach more students and make a greater impact in their lives."  The SCC will be offering programming to qualifying students/families for the 2023/2024 school year which will include: Youth Swim Lessons, Youth Volleyball Lessons, Fit Kids activities, Youth Tumble Lessons and Youth Dance Lessons.  Visit aceohio.org to apply for an ACE educational savings account.

The Ohio ACE Education Marketplace is an online destination for Ohio ACE program participants to find service providers verified as offering eligible services under ACE program guidelines.  The Ohio ACE educational savings account program is administered by Merit International, Inc. and the Ohio Department of Education, with the goal of providing educational activities to students who experienced learning disruptions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Once approved, parents and guardians may search for participating service providers in the ACE Education Marketplace, and submit claims for reimbursement using a dedicated app.

Families can visit aceohio.org to apply for an ACE educational savings account and browse the Education Marketplace for service providers. Applying is a 3-step process.  Step 1 - Parents/guardians will complete the online application; Step 2 – Sign up with Merit; and Step 3 – Spend ACE programming funds.  Visit salemcommunitycenter.com to learn more about SCC’s ACE qualifying programs (volleyball, swim, and tumble/dance lessons and Fit Kids activities).

The Salem Community Center is a private not-for-profit organization dedicated to the improvement of the quality of life within our community.  The current facility opened in November 2002 through funds donated by the Salem Community Foundation set aside from the McKeown Family endowment.
